UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS RIGHT NOW IF YOU HAVE AN NVIDIA GEFORCE, QUADRO OR TESLA GRAPHIC CARD

Nvidia has uncovered and patched three vulnerabilities in the Windows display drivers for the company’s GeForce, Quadro and Tesla graphics cards. If exploited, the vulnerabilities could lead to denial of service, escalation of privileges or information disclosure on the host machines. Two of the vulnerabilities have a high -severity rating while the third is medium severity.

If a denial of service attack is executed, the computer would become unusable while the attacker could execute commands on the system or unleash malicious code. Escalation of privileges would give the attacker permission to interact and modify the system at advanced levels. Information disclosure gives attackers information about system configuration.

It’s highly recommended that you install an updated driver as soon as possible (aka immediately) if you’re a gamer with an Nvidia GeForce card or anyone else using one of the compromised drivers. If you have GeForce experience installed, you can have it update your driver automatically. Open the app, click Drivers, and then hit Check for Updates just to be sure you’re current. If you aren’t, GeForce Experience will download and install the driver for you.
